A helicopter crash involved personnel from NNPCL onboard.
On Thursday, a helicopter met with unfortunate circumstances in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, while carrying personnel from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) onboard.
NNPC Limited’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, issued a statement affirming that the helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation was contracted by NNPC Limited.
At 11:22 a.m., a helicopter accident occurred along the waterways in Port Harcourt. The Sikorsky SK76, registered as 5NBQG and operated by East Wind Aviation, had just departed from the Port Harcourt Military Base (DNPM) en route to the FPSO – NUIMS ANTAN oil rig when the crash took place.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Odutayo Oluseyi, has confirmed that there were eight individuals on board.
