Fire has gutted the Oko Baba plank market in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos state.
The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA’s spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor.
According to Okunbor, search and rescue operation is currently being carried out by emergency responders.
He said, “LASEMA Response Team, LRU Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service in search and rescue operation at Oko Baba plank market by Ibadan Street, Ebute Metta. Full Details”
According to news reports, the inferno also affected the shanties in the market.
