A U.S.-based Nigerian undercover journalist, Ude Jackson, has revealed on his microblogging platform, X, that the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly has reportedly misused N36 billion allocated for the lawmakers in the past year. According to Jackson, this amount was either misappropriated intentionally or due to negligence, prompting members of the assembly to threaten exposure of the alleged financial misconduct.
Ude Jackson claimed that from January 2024 to the present, Lagos State Speaker Obasa has reportedly collected nearly N36 billion from both recurrent and capital expenditures, yet has failed to provide any explanation or accountability for the funds.
