According to The Mirror, financial terms were never an obstacle in negotiations. Instead, the primary sticking point was the contract’s duration. Salah sought a three-year deal, while FSG initially offered just one year.

Ultimately, both parties agreed on a two-year extension, keeping Salah at Anfield until the end of the 2026/27 season, when he will be nearing his 35th birthday.

Transfer expert Rudy Galetti revealed that Salah’s decision to remain at Liverpool is partly driven by his aspiration to win the Ballon d’Or. Despite his stellar career at Anfield, Salah has often been overlooked for major individual honors.
