In a statement released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the operation also led to the destruction of multiple logistical bases and the recovery of various military equipment, including materials used in the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Abou Azimane had long been sought for numerous atrocities against civilian populations and attacks on FAMa personnel in the region.
The statement further disclosed that on the same day, FAMa intercepted and recovered a DJI drone bearing CSP-DPA inscriptions, which was allegedly targeting military installations.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces commended the professionalism of the troops involved in the operation and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the security and stability of the nation.
