Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for a record-equalling fourth time which ultimately earned him a place in the club’s history.
According to Manchester Evening News, Fernandes is now only the third United player to win the award four times, joining David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal international has put up some incredible stats to help push his team to advance to the Europa League final next week, despite United’s difficulties in the Premier League this season.
The 30-year-old has been by far United’s finest player this season, tallying 19 goals and 19 assists.

He has contributed 12 goals in the Europa League, including a brace in their 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their semi-final in Spain, a goal in their thrilling quarterfinal victory over Lyon, and a hat-trick against Real Sociedad in the round of 16.
This indicates that Fernandes has now emerged victorious in 2020, 2021, 2024, and 2025. De Gea received the trophy four times out of five from 2014 to 2018, whereas Ronaldo received it in 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2021.
Fernandes would hold the record for the most Sir Matty Busby Player of the Year awards of any United player if he stayed with the team. He would also be the early favorite to win the honor next season.
Harry Maguire completed the top three, while Amad, whose game-winning goal against Man City was named Goal of the Season, came in second.
On a personal level, Fernandes hopes to assist United win the Europa League next week in order to cap off a fantastic season.
