Money Laundering: “Yahaya Bello Is Taking His Case To The Supreme Court” – Defense Lawyer Says

The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed the money laundering case involving former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, which was initiated by the EFCC. The case is now scheduled for a ruling on October 30, 2024.

Justice Emeka Nwite granted the postponement after Bello expressed his intention to appeal to the Supreme Court, aiming to overturn the arrest warrant that the trial court issued on April 17.

During the hearing, defense attorney A.M. Adoyi notified the court that the issue concerning Bello’s arraignment, which is currently under appeal, has been escalated to the Supreme Court.

He pointed out that the ruling from the Court of Appeal on August 28, which mandated Bello to present himself before Justice Nwite for arraignment, has been contested in the highest court.
