The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) component of Operation Fansa Yanma has killed scores of bandits in a precision airstrike targeting the enclave of a notorious bandit leader, Yusuf Yellow, in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
A senior security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the intelligence-led operation was highly successful, with multiple terrorists neutralized.
Zagazola Makama understand that the airstrikes were carefully coordinated based on credible intelligence, leading to the elimination of a significant number of armed bandits. The mission was executed with precision to degrade their operational capabilities,” the source said.
However, it remains unclear whether Yusuf Yellow, the gang leader, was among those killed in the air raid. Security forces are currently conducting surveillance to assess the full impact of the operation.
The Nigerian military has intensified air and ground offensives under Operation Fansa Yanma, aimed at restoring peace and stability.
