In a nostalgic and heartwarming post, Nigerian author and former Presidential aides Reno Omokri shared a personal reflection that bridges folklore and real-life experience during his recent visit to Tarangire National Park in Tanzania.
Recounting a childhood tale, Omokri wrote:
“When we were young, we were told that if we saw a rainbow and rainfall when the sun was shining brightly, it meant a lioness was giving birth to a lion cub. Of course, as children, we believed this ridiculous story.”CONTINUE READING
However, in a twist that seemed almost poetic, Omokri said he had just witnessed a lioness with her cubs in the wild — a rare and symbolic sight.
“Today, I saw a lioness with her cubs (video posted tomorrow, God sparing my life), and just as I drove out of Tarangire National Park, where I saw the mother and cubs, I was greeted with this sight for sore eyes: A rainbow on a bright and sunny day!” he revealed.
The post has since drawn admiration from his followers, who appreciated the blend of memory, myth, and majestic nature. Omokri promised to share the video of the lioness and her cubs in an upcoming post.
