Super Falcons of Nigeria winger, Rasheedat Ajibade, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid, the women’s team, has been voted Spanish Liga F’s Player of the Month for September.
Rasheedat Ajibade was honoured with the prestigious award for her outstanding performances throughout September.
Ajibade, who is currently 24-year-old made a remarkable impact by scoring five goals and providing two assists in just four league appearances during the said month.
Among the tough competition, Ajibade emerged victorious, triumphing over other notable players, including Ewa Pajor from Barcelona, Caroline Weir from Real Madrid, María Llompart from Levante Badalona, and Nerea Nevado from Athletic Club Femenino.
Her exceptional form has also positioned her as the second-leading scorer in the Spanish Liga F, just behind Pajor.
Note that Atletico Madrid currently holds the third position in the league standings, trailing behind Barcelona and Real Madrid. Ajibade’s contributions have undoubtedly played a significant role in the team’s success.
Last season, Rasheedat Ajibade had the best campaign of her career in which she scored ten goals and provided six assists in 35 league games, a performance that earned her Player of the Season award.
The Nigeria international, who has been playing European football since 2018, has until the summer of 2025 before her current contract with the Spanish women’s giants expires.
