Edna Imade, a Nigerian striker and Super Falcons hopeful, was once again in the spotlight as Granada dismantled Deportivo 5-0 in the Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino on Saturday.
Imade’s clinical strike in the 60th minute sealed the victory for Granada, who dominated from start to finish. This goal marks Imade’s third consecutive match with a goal, following efforts against Badalona and Levante.
She was a constant threat throughout the game, recording two shots on target and one blocked effort. Imade even came close to adding another goal, but saw her header saved and a late chance narrowly miss the target.
Granada opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Laura Pérez, who nodded home a cross from Alexia Fernández. Ten minutes later, Isabel Álvarez doubled the lead after pouncing on Cristina Postigo’s headed assist.
The Nazaríes carried their momentum into the second half, with Álvarez turning provider for Postigo’s strike in the 49th minute. Ornella Vignola added a fourth goal before Imade wrapped up the scoring.
Beyond her goal, Imade showcased her aerial prowess, winning six of seven aerial duels. She was also involved in ground battles, coming out on top in three of five duels.
Imade completed 13 of her 24 passes, delivered three key passes, and contributed defensively with three tackles and a clearance.
