Sources suggest that the group operating from the Indaduwa Forest base has been responsible for ambushes, kidnappings, and other criminal activities targeting travelers and local residents. Informants in Illela and Marnona have allegedly been aiding the gang, facilitating the movement of ransom payments and intelligence.
On the night of December 21, an ambush targeting security personnel on the Gundumi-Isa road was reportedly carried out by operatives from Turji’s new base. Witnesses claim the group used the element of surprise to inflict significant casualties before retreating into the forest.
Impeccable sources pointed out that thr two primary reasons for establishing this new camp: Conflict with Rival Bandits and Turji has an unresolved feud with the Maniya group, linked to a longstanding rivalry inherited from his father, Rugga Chida. This feud led to a violent clash years ago, resulting in the death of Kachalla Dullun, a prominent Maniya figure. Turji reportedly views the new base as a strategic position to undermine the Maniya group’s operations in the Dutsin Gwauro area, which has served as their headquarters.
Turji is reportedly determined to thwart the establishment of a planned security outpost in Gundumi Forest. The recent ambushes are seen as part of his efforts to discourage government forces from gaining a foothold in the area.
Prominent members of Turji’s gang, including Dan Kwaro, Ila Manawa, Duna, and Sani Black, are believed to have shifted their focus and operations to this new base. The gang’s reach extends to areas bordering Galadi, Maradun, Gundumi, and Raba….N..>>Don’t Miss Out! CLICK HERE TO KEEP READING>>>>>
