Ondo – A top Anglican Church cleric, Reverend Olowolagba, wife and two children have been reportedly abducted by gunmen along lboropa Road in Akoko area of Ondo State.
It was learnt that the victims were returning from a wedding ceremony in Ikaramu-Akoko when the incident happened on Thursday.
Sources disclosed that their abductors have contacted their family demanding N10 million ransom for their release.
Mrs. Olowolagba is said to be a member of a socio-cultural group, Egbe Akomolede, and the group has begun to raise money among its members.
The Chairman of the group, Maliki Abdulwahid informed members of the association urging them to contribute at least N2,000 each to effect the release of their member and her family.
He explained that if members of the association donated N2000 each, they would be able to raise a sum N300,000.
But the Ondo State Police Command has denied knowledge of the incident which happened on Thursday.
Spokesperson for the Command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, a Superintendent of Police, said the Command has not received any report of such.

When contacted on the incident, the Corps Commander of Ondo State Security Network code named Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye confirmed the incident, but said it happened last week.
He assured that the agency is working with other security agencies towards the rescue of the abductees.
“It is true, though the incident didn’t happen the day before yesterday, it happened last week.
“We are working with other security agencies to ensure we rescue the victims,” the Corps Commander said.
