Youths in Ayede Ogbese, Ondo State, have barricaded a major highway in protest against a surge in kidnappings and killings. The dramatic Road’s Cry came after a man was killed and a businesswoman was abducted, as residents accuse the government and security agencies of failing to protect them.

Recall that a man was reportedly killed and a businesswoman abducted on Thursday.

The protest caused a heavy traffic gridlock, stranding travelers yesterday, Friday. The Protest Residents blame the bad state of the road for aiding criminals.

They also accused security agencies of being ineffective.

The Commissioner of Police addressed the protesters and promised action.
