In a post made on the evening of boxing day by an X (formerly Twitter) user, Celebrity Blogger, @Celebrityblo, the user claimed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarter in Abuja was hit by a suicide bomb blast with the building completely destroyed and $100 billion destroyed.
The post gained 271 views in 13 hours, and as at the time of this report had gained over 400 views.
A post of similar nature was also made by a Facebook user named Uche H Nwaigwe, with the same text, indicating it was copied.
Sharing Uche H Nwaigwe post, Lucky Bright Akachukwu captioned, ‘No security in Nigeria’.
VERIFICATION:
Ripples Nigeria visited the pages of the Central bank of Nigeria on all social media platforms and no such incident has been captured.
A further visit to several credible news agencies and platforms proved further that the claim is false, as an incident of such magnitude could not have gone unnoticed by both local and foreign media platforms
