The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, on Friday commissioned the newly completed 8-lane Arterial Road N5, also known as Obafemi Awolowo Way, stretching from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3 (RR3) in Abuja, LeadNaija report.

The development was disclosed via the minister’s verified X (formerly Twitter) account, where he expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his continued support of infrastructure development in the capital city.

“Yesterday, we commissioned the newly constructed 8-lane Arterial Road N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way) from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3 (RR3),” Wike wrote.

“I thank Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his support always. I also thank the SGF, Senator George Akume, who represented the President.”

The project, described as a major urban infrastructure milestone, is expected to improve traffic flow, boost economic activities, and enhance connectivity within the Federal Capital Territory.

Wike also announced that the FCT Administration will continue its infrastructure drive with the commissioning of another project in Bwari scheduled for Monday, June 24.

The 8-lane expansion is part of the FCT Administration’s broader commitment to modernizing Abuja’s transport infrastructure and easing congestion in high-density corridors.
