The former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Friday, June 27, met with the governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum.
Atiku and Zulum met after Friday’s Juma’ah prayers at the Annoor Jumuat Mosque in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
In a post made on X, the two-time presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said he joined family and friends for the wedding ceremony of Senator Maina Ma’aji Lawan, a former governor of Borno State.
He wrote, “After the Juma’ah prayers today, I joined family and friends at the wedding fatiha of the son of Senator Maina Ma’aji Lawan, Hon. Karta Maina Ma’aji Lawan and his bride, Dr Zainab Abubakar Bello, at the Annoor Jumuat Mosque, Abuja.
“It was my honour and pleasure to have responded to the invite of Karta’s father, H.E. Maina Maaji Lawan, the third civilian governor of Borno State, a one-time Senator of Borno North, and long-standing political associate,” Atiku noted.
Further congratulating the couple on the wedding, Atiku prayed to God to bless their marriage.
“I congratulate the young couple and wish them success, especially as the groom, Hon. Karta Lawan is combining the huge tasks of raising a family and giving the people of Kukawa LGA of Borno State a responsive and responsible representation at the Borno State House of Assembly
“May Allah bless the marriage. Amin,” Atiku added.
