The attack, which occurred at about 9 p.m. on Monday, involved a group of heavily armed bandits who blocked the road near Dorowa Village and opened fire on moving vehicles.
During the assault, the gunmen shot at a red Ford vehicle and a Volkswagen Golf, injuring two passengers and abducting an undisclosed number of commuters.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Danmusa immediately mobilized operatives of Operation Sharan Daji to the scene. The security personnel engaged the bandits in a gun duel, forcing them to flee into the bush.
The injured victims were rushed to Yantumaki Hospital for treatment, while police and other security forces have intensified efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims unharmed.
