On-air personality Rufai Oseni has urged the Ogun State Police Command to ensure that controversial singer Portable is dealt with according to the law after he allegedly assaulted officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development....TAP HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY..>>
Sharing his opinion on the What’s Trending segment of Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, February 19, Oseni stated that the singer has developed a pattern of breaking the law and then pleading for leniency when held accountable.
According to him, Portable must be investigated and made to face the consequences of his actions.
He said: “The police should not tolerate this. With due respect, arrest him. Portable thinks he can break the law. This is the second time he’s done it. He did it the first time, and he was charged to court. That was how he harassed people who came. Now, town planners came, and he pulled out a firearm. We should ask—where did he get the firearm from? He has been terrorizing society, and now he’s feigning ignorance. I checked his Instagram pages, and he posted a picture of himself praying in the sand. At first, he lied, claiming it was because he wore Yayi’s t-shirt. Then he sang a song to beg Dapo Abiodun.”
“If you let such a man go unpunished, he will think he can get away with anything. At some point, he even brought one of his sisters, who pleaded on his behalf. He said life is unfair to him.”
“But when he was bragging about chasing those officials and calling himself ‘Oba ni mi’ (I am a king), he didn’t think of the consequences. The police command should go ahead, arrest him, and let him face the full wrath of the law.”
Recall that Portable was declared wanted on Monday, February 17, after an altercation with officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. He, along with nine others, allegedly assaulted the officials during an enforcement exercise, leaving them injured.
Following the incident, nine of Portable’s associates were arrested, while the singer initially evaded capture.
Reports indicate that Portable has since turned himself in after being declared wanted for the attack.
He voluntarily presented himself at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on the morning of Tuesday, February 18. He is currently being transported to Ogun State, where he will be handed over to the police for further investigation.
With the singer now in police custody, authorities are expected to proceed with legal action regarding the alleged assault.
