Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly exploring creative strategies to secure Victor Osimhen’s signature in the upcoming transfer window.
The Gunners have once again fallen short in their bid to claim their first Premier League title in three consecutive seasons, with Liverpool currently holding a commanding 15-point lead at the top of the table.
Mikel Arteta’s inability to mount a title challenge for the third successive season has been attributed to the absence of a prolific striker in his squad.
Gabriel Jesus has struggled with injuries since joining Arsenal from Manchester City, while Kai Havertz, who was deployed as a makeshift centre forward, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
This leaves Mikel Arteta with no choice but to deploy Mikel Merino in the number nine role.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal has identified four players to offload at the end of the season to raise funds for the potential transfer of Victor Osimhen, who is currently enjoying an extraordinary loan spell at Galatasaray.
The players the club plans to part ways with include Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey, Jorginho, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Kieran Tierney.
The quartet has a combined market value of £55 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Additionally, Arsenal is expected to free up £500,000 per week in wages, which could be allocated to their new signing in the summer.
Victor Osimhen has been in phenomenal form since joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan in September.
The 26-year-old striker has scored an impressive 22 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions for the Turkish giants.
However, it remains uncertain whether the Super Eagles star will agree to a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, as Manchester United and other clubs are also closely monitoring him.
