PSV will not be signing this Premier League defender.
It was a magical season for PSV Eindhoven in 2024/25.
When they lost 2-0 to Ajax on March 30th, they were firmly in second place.
They were nine points behind Ajax with seven games remaining.
Two wins followed for PSV, but the same applied for Ajax, who had a massive lead over them.
However, Ajax then suffered a monumental collapse.
They won just one of their final five games, with two draws and two losses.
Meanwhile, PSV won all of their remaining games and thus were crowned Eredivisie champions.
This marked back-to-back Dutch league titles, and the 26th in the club’s history.
They will be looking to go back-to-back-to-back this season.
So far, only goalkeeper Nick Olij has arrived, signing from Sparta Rotterdam for €3 million.
PSV have seen six players depart, all for free.
Goalkeeper Walter BenÃtez has agreed to join Crystal Palace and will move on July 1st.
Right-back Richard Ledezma will join Mexican side Chivas on a free.
Center-back Olivier Boscagli, right-back Rick Karsdorp and forward Lucas Pérez, formerly of Arsenal, have all left and are yet to find a club.
They have since turned down the chance to make another addition to the team this summer.
PSV Eindhoven pull out of deal for Manchester United defender
According to reports, PSV have pulled out of deal for Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with the Dutch side.
With just 384 total minutes in the Eredivisie, he only had three appearances for PSV with more than 45 minutes played.
In December 2024, he played his first game at United for 18 months after knee issues.
Malacia’s future looks to be away from Ruben Amorim’s side, and his next club remains a mystery after this setback from PSV.
