Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sounded a stark warning to Nigerians, forecasting severe economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele predicted a dramatic rise in the prices of essential food commodities, urging the government to take immediate action to avoid further chaos.
The cleric forewarned that without urgent intervention, the cost of a bag of rice could surge to N120,000, beans could reach N200,000, and a crate of eggs could exceed N7,000.
He also projected sharp increases in the prices of everyday items such as bread, bottled water, and even groundnuts.
“Unless the government steps up and provides solutions to the current crisis, the hardship in this country will intensify, and we could be facing chaos,” Ayodele cautioned.
According to Primate Ayodele’s prophecy, the coming months could see a drastic spike in the cost of living, leaving many Nigerians struggling to afford basic necessities.
“In the coming days, if the government doesn’t do what is necessary, I foresee a bag of rice being sold for N120,000, beans costing N200,000, a loaf of bread for N5,000, bottled water reaching N400, and biscuits at N500 per piece.
“Even groundnuts will cost N200, and a small tuber of yam will be sold for N7,000,” he predicted.
The prophet also issued a grim forecast for the price of eggs, warning that a crate could soon exceed N7,000.
Beyond the soaring food prices, Primate Ayodele warned of economic collapse if the government fails to act.
According to him, Nigeria’s budget would be insufficient to meet the growing financial demands, leading to even more borrowing, which could harm the nation’s international standing.
“I don’t see the budget of Nigeria being sufficient, even with additional funds. The government will need to borrow more, and it still won’t be enough.
“We may reach a point where yearly budgets no longer work, and we’ll have to shift to quarterly or bi-annual budgets due to severe economic issues, Full Details” Ayodele warned.
