Kanunta Kanu, the brother of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed why the National Security Adviser, NSA Nuhu Ribadu, hates IPOB.
According to him, IPOB reminds Ribadu that his Fulani ethnicity is not indigenous to Nigeria.
Kanunta said this after Ribadu revealed that the grip IPOB has over the Southeast is dwindling.
Ribadu had said,âIn the south-east, a welcome development is the sit-at-home orders are becoming more and more ineffective.
âKey IPOB/ESN figures captured or neutralised. Over 50 police stations and many police posts have been rebuilt.
âAttacks on security forces significantly reduced. Social and economic activities are normalising.
âIn north-west, a watershed year in the fight against banditry, 11,250 hostages freed; a decline in mass abductions.
âDecisive blows to top warlords⌠Ali Kachalla, Boderi, Halilu Sububu, Dangote, Isuhu Yellow, Damuna etc were eliminated.â
Reacting, Nnamdi Kanu’s brother described the NSA’s statement as hate.
He said on X, “Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and his ilk hate IPOB because it reminds him of a painful truth: the Fulani are not indigenous to Nigeria. The Hausa are, the Yoruba are, and so are the Igbo, Tiv, Ijaw, Efik, Idoma, Nupe, Birom, Kanuri and dozens more.
Your ancestral origin from Futa Jallon cannot be erased by forceful conquest or institutional domination. IPOB is a mirror you cannot look away fromâit reflects your deepest fears: that the South-East, unlike the North, cannot be conquered.”
