A tragic accident on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway has claimed the lives of 21 passengers after a trailer collided with a Hummer bus on Thursday.
The bus, which was reportedly travelling to Kano State and Batsari town in Katsina State, was involved in a fatal crash near a route diversion on the highway.
The diversion forced motorists from both directions to drive on a single lane, contributing to the collision.
According to witnesses, the driver of the trailer fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle alongside another container truck.
Three passengers survived the crash but sustained serious injuries.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
