The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a social media content creator, Muhammed Kabir Sa’ad, for allegedly abusing the Nigerian currency in a viral video.

Sa’ad, popularly known on TikTok and Instagram as @youngcee0066, reportedly posted a video where he was seen spraying Naira notes on the floor, stepping on them, and mockingly daring the EFCC to arrest him—all while speaking in Hausa.

The video quickly gained traction online, drawing public outrage and prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The EFCC confirmed the arrest on Monday, stating that the act constitutes a violation of Nigeria’s currency laws under the Central Bank of Nigeria Act.

A senior EFCC official described Sa’ad’s conduct as “reckless and contemptuous,” noting that such public disregard for national symbols would not be tolerated.
