Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reaffirmed the upper chamber’s commitment to concluding deliberations on the remaining tax reform bills without delay. Speaking at Tuesday’s plenary, Akpabio stated:
“We also expect that we will complete the other two outstanding (tax reform) bills tomorrow (today), and we will go through the same process even if we have to stay until 10 PM.”
The Senate had already passed two of the four tax reform bills on Monday. The remaining two are expected to further streamline Nigeria’s fiscal framework, enhance revenue generation, and support the country’s economic recovery plan.
Akpabio’s comments highlight the urgency the National Assembly places on comprehensive tax reform as part of President Tinubu’s broader economic agenda.
