Sergi Gomez has warned Martin Zubimendi about joining Manchester City and insists he is better off staying at Real Sociedad.
Gomez signed for Man City in 2022 for £11 million although the move did not go to plan as the defender made just 18 appearances under Pep Guardiola.
The Spanish international struggled to ever break into the team under Guardiola and spent almost two years just sitting on the sidelines.
Zubimendi could run the risk of having the same thing happen as Rodri will most likely have returned to full fitness in the summer after suffering an ACL injury.
Gomez told Diario AS: “I’ve already told him that it’s not that bad, that at Real [Sociedad] you’re much better off.”
