Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has shared his thoughts about President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, March 20, 2025, Sowore expressed his excitement about the recent declaration in the Southern state.

On Tuesday, President Tinubu suspended Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, and all members of the House of Assembly for six months. He also appointed Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas as the sole administrator of Rivers State.

In response, Sowore mentioned that the chaos in Rivers State may be a wake-up call for Nigerians to demand revolution.

“To be clear, I am not here to defend godfather and son. I don’t care about them. I hope they destroy themselves.”

“It will force Nigerians to complete the 30 days challenge and move on to the stage where is will be complete revolt. That is not me saying I love anarchy but love Justice,” he stated.
