Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stands no realistic chance of securing re-election in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, claiming the ruling party’s strategy of using defections to project strength is misleading.
El-Rufai made the declaration while addressing a select group of political associates on Arise Tv, warning that the perception being created by the presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) is far from the reality on ground.
“President Tinubu is determined to make the 2027 election look as if it’s already settled. It’s not,” he said.
“They are giving this impression through orchestrated defections. But I have looked at the numbers, I have studied the trends—President Tinubu has no path to victory. He cannot win.”
The former FCT Minister, known for his strategic political insight and blunt assessments, stated that discontent within the country has grown significantly, and the electorate will not be swayed by political theatrics.
