Not fewer than 40 people have been killed and dozens injured in an attack on Al Mujlad Hospital in the southern Sudanese province of West Kordofan.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) said this on Sunday.
“WHO is appalled by the attack on Al Mujlad Hospital in West Kordofan, which led to dozens of injuries and at least 40 civilian deaths,’’ the WHO said in a statement on X.
WHO called for an end to violence, adding that six children and five health workers were among the dead.
Fierce fighting between the regular Sudanese army and the rebel Rapid Support Forces has been raging in Sudan since April 2023.
In March, the army announced that it had pushed rebels out of the capital Khartoum.
The RSF stepped up attacks in western and southern Sudan in April, declaring the formation of a rival government. (RIA/NAN)
