According to Punch, Suspected terrorists have killed at least five people in Lighitlubang village, located in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The brutal attack, which occurred on the night of Friday, January 31, 2025, is believed to have been carried out by armed assailants.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers stormed the village while the residents were asleep and mercilessly slaughtered the victims. Moses Bankat, a local villager, confirmed the tragic incident to PUNCH Online on Saturday. He explained, “It happened yesterday at about midnight of 31/01/2025. Some suspected terrorists entered Lighitlubang village in Bungha District of Mangu Local Government and killed a family of five people, a man, his wife and a child with another man and wife all slaughtered.”
The Plateau State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Alabo Alfred, also confirmed the attack to our correspondent. He stated that security personnel had been dispatched to the affected community to restore order and ensure peace.
