Some vandals operating in Delta State have stolen some remote clips on the Agbarho axis of the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Agbarho railway track.
A video shared by a Nigerian showed that the vandals removed a number of clips from the track, but took to their heels when they noticed that some people were approaching the location.
However, in a swift reaction, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) said it carried out an investigation over the complaint and has replaced the stolen clips.
In a video post shared on X, NRC said, the track is now safe following the replacement of about 24 clips which were stolen by the criminals.
It said, “A vandalized railway track was reported at Agbarho and promptly investigated by track and safety officers. The stolen clips have been replaced, and the track is now safe.
“However, due to the incident, the WITS 01 train on May 12, 2025, will depart 40 minutes late,” NRC stated in the post.
