Igboayaka’s offence was informing the Ebonyi governor of an impending attack from Fulani herdsmen. The Governor did not do anything and the attack happened. Instead of the governor going after Fulani herdsmen, they decided to move after Ọhaneze Youth President, accusing him of causing the people to panic.
The Governor is not worried about those who inflicted harm on our people, but what is after is who caused panic. But the question is, did what he said would happen actually happened? Yes. Did the governor do anything about it? No.
Why are we not calling for the release of this young man? Why are we not worried that a young man has been arrested without committing a crime? Probably they want everyone to keep quiet as they destroy our people. We must speak up against this intimidation unless we lose all the voices speaking in favour of our people.
I call on the Ebonyi state governor to release Igboayaka because he committed no crime.
