“Will Seek Avenues For Constructive Dialogue” NANS Threat FG, Unveil Nationwide Protests

The National Association of Nigerian Students has said that it will exhaust every form of dialogue with the Federal Government over the recent increase in fuel price by the Federal Government.

NANS’ Senate President, Akinteye Babatunde, on Monday, September 9, at a press briefing in Abuja, said a nationwide protest is only a resort especially where every approach has failed.

Akintunde also called for an upward review of the student loan from N20,000 to N40,000 to help cushion the financial effect of the growing hardship across the country.

The NANS Senate president said this is to help members of the group in various institutions adapt to the high cost of living bedevilling the nation.

He said, “We will seek avenues for constructive engagement with the government and other stakeholders to address our grievances. Protests should only be a last resort, not the first option. Full Details

Akintunde also called on President Bola Tinubu to dismiss all non-performing ministers and other cabinet members.

He said there is a need to review the government’s excessive spending and prioritize the needs of the Nigerian people.
