Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), has been named “Woman of the Year 2024” by ThisDay newspaper.

The publication stated that under her stewardship, the WTO facilitated historic trade agreements that played a pivotal role in revitalizing the global economy, particularly benefiting developing nations.

The newspaper said in a statement: “Her leadership during these negotiations underscored her dedication to creating equitable opportunities in international trade.
