Christopher Nkunku was the hat-trick hero as Chelsea cruised to a comfortable victory over Barrow in the Carabao Cup third round. The French forward was in scintillating form, scoring three goals and leading the Blues to a resounding 5-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku opened the scoring early on with a clinical finish after being set up by João Félix, who was also impressive in midfield. The duo combined once again for Chelsea’s second goal, with Nkunku slotting home from close range.
The striker completed his hat-trick just before halftime, latching onto a through ball from Malo Gusto and firing past the Barrow goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
Chelsea continued to dominate after the break, with Pedro Neto and Mykhailo Mudryk adding their names to the scoresheet to complete the rout.
It was a night to remember for Nkunku, who was deservedly named the man of the match for his outstanding performance.
