A former aide to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the arrest of the national president of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, by the State Security Services (SSS).
Lauretta Onochie who served as a personal assistant to Buhari on social media, said that Ajaero was fleeing the country when he was arrested by the SSS.
Recall that the NLC president was earlier arrested by the police over allegations of terrorism financing.
Following his detention by the police, the NLC headquarters in Abuja was also raided by operatives of the Force. He was later released after outrage and condemnation by individuals and groups across the country.
However, in a different operation, the SSS arrested the Ajaero on his way to a Trade Union Congress.
In her post on X, Onochie said, “BREAKING NEWS: DSS ARRESTS NLC PRESIDENT Joe Ajaero.”
She also commended the secret police for a job well done over the NLC’s president’s arrest.
She added, “Good job @OfficialDSSNG. He was fleeing to a nation where laws are respected, and DSS grabbed him.#Obidiots and #Obidients did not follow him to the Airport. #Ndibilibili.”
