Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred around 1:30 a.m. on February 17 when heavily armed men stormed the village and whisked away the victims to the mountainous terrain along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that a distress call was received around 3:30 a.m., prompting an immediate security response.
“Upon receiving the report, operatives visited the scene, and a joint team of police officers and local hunters has been deployed to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the apprehension of the culprits,” a police source disclosed.
The command also detailed its Anti-Kidnapping Unit to conduct a discreet investigation into the incident, while security patrols have been intensified in the area to prevent further attacks.
