Sunday Dare Defends Tinubu, Challenges Opponents to Prove Popularity in 2027

According to Vanguard Newspaper, Sunday Dare, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, has dismissed the president’s political critics as mere “wannabes.” He made it clear that the president is unaffected by the ongoing attacks from opposition figures.

This statement comes after recent public remarks from former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who both criticized the current administration.

El-Rufai openly questioned the core values of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he no longer recognizes the party. He also expressed disappointment over the leadership quality, highlighting the negative effects of having unqualified individuals in positions of power.

Despite being a member of the APC, El-Rufai made it clear that he would continue to voice his dissatisfaction with the party, regardless of his position in Tinubu’s administration.

Meanwhile, Amaechi addressed the challenge of the political elite relinquishing power to younger generations, noting that they would not do so without resistance.

In response to their comments on Saturday, Dare suggested that these critics should wait for the 2027 elections to see if they can prove their popularity at the ballot box.

Dare tweeted, “While President Tinubu was in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, working on solutions for Nigeria’s energy challenges, his critics were busy creating unrest back home. Their gathering only recycled the same old opposition arguments, with some even inciting undemocratic behavior.”

He also reminded Nigerians that these critics have known histories and urged the public to carefully assess their options, distinguishing between those truly working for progress and those simply opposing for the sake of opposition.

Dare concluded by emphasizing that the time for action is not yet, and that President Tinubu, as a dedicated democrat, remains focused on enhancing the lives of Nigerians and engaging in productive discussions aimed at building a strong and sustainable economy.Tap Here for the Full Story
