President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Folashade Arinola Adekaiyaoja fsi+, fdc, as the Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Department of State Services (DSS).
This appointment, a first by any Nigerian president, has been lauded by both current and retired DSS personnel, who view it as a strategic move to enhance professionalism within the service.
The decision aligns with a broader initiative to restructure the DSS for improved efficiency, adhering to the agency’s original organogram that includes three Deputy Directors General. This structural revision is expected to bolster the agency’s operational capabilities and career progression framework.
The recommendation for Adekaiyaoja’s appointment was made by the DSS Director-General, Mr. Oluwastosin Ajayi, and endorsed by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Adekaiyaoja, a native of Kogi State, is celebrated within the DSS for her qualifications and dedication to the service.
This appointment is part of President Tinubu’s broader security strategy, which includes empowering security agencies with advanced technology, including Artificial Intelligence, to combat insecurity across Nigeria.
At a recent National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) event, the President reiterated his commitment to supporting the DSS and other agencies in their mission to ensure the safety of Nigerians.Tap Here To Read Full Details
