The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has explained the process for members of the public to submit petitions on alleged cases of fraud and other financial crimes through its online portal, according to The PUNCH.
Petitioners are required to provide accurate information, as submitting a false petition is a criminal offence punishable under Section 64(3) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000, with a penalty of up to 10 years’ imprisonment or a fine not exceeding ₦100,000. The EFCC advises that providing complete and accurate information will enable the commission to process petitions more effectively.

First name, surname, NIN, gender, phone number, email address
Country, state, LGA, residential address
Case Information Required:
Subject/title of petition
Name and location of suspect
Name of complainant
Location where crime occurred
Amount involved and currency
Petition Details:
Detailed narration of the complaint
Supporting Documents (Optional):
PDF documents and image files (max 10MB each)
Warning:
False petitions are a criminal offence punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment or a N100,000 fine
Petitioners can submit their complaints through the EFCC online portal at Economic and Financial Crime Commission – EFCC. Providing complete and accurate information will enable the commission to process petitions more effectively.
