On Thursday , after he was said to have refused to pay a bribe.
According to witnesses, the policeman stopped his car for usual roger, he refused to stop, so the officer fired him 3 shot, LeadNaija News learnt.
One hit him in the chest, causing him to lose control of the car and crash into three pedestrians, seriously injuring them, while he died on the spot.
The officer tried escaping by firing more shots into the air and repeatedly cocking the gun, but youths rushed, tackled him to ground, collected the gun, and beat him with stones until other officers came to rescue him.
It happened around Agip by Ada George Junction, Port Harcourt on Thursday evening around 5pm
Rivers State Police Command is yet to react or identify the officer.
