Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is expected to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the state’s House of Assembly today, according to The PUNCH.
The governor presented the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework last week, which was approved 24 hours later.
The budget presentation was delayed by the political crisis between the governor and the lawmakers, which led to the bombing of the legislative chamber about three years ago.
The Assembly has been sitting temporarily at the Assembly Quarters Auditorium.
A Government House source confirmed that all was set for the presentation. The delay in presenting the new budget has been attributed to the crisis between Fubara and the Amaewhule-led Assembly, but the presentation signals a new cordial relationship between the feuding parties.
