Coalition Raises Alarm over Plot to Rewrite History Against Babangida

The National Youths Coalition (NYC) has raised a strong alarm over what it describes as a coordinated and mischievous plot by certain individuals to rewrite history and discredit the public record of former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (Rtd).In an official statement issued in Abuja, the Convener of the Coalition, Mr. Collins Emmanuel, strongly condemned the ongoing campaigns of calumny.

He declared that the group will firmly resist any attempt to disparage, malign, or undermine the legacy of the elder statesman. The Coalition noted that General Babangida dedicated his life to the service of the nation and deserves honor and peace, rather than targeted denigration, particularly in his advanced age.”It is deeply troubling that some persons remain completely insensitive to the feelings of others, choosing to incite public hostility rather than promote words that heal the nation,” the statement read.

Citing sacred scriptural principles, the group reminded critics that hurting an innocent soul unjustly is an offense against all of humanity.

The National Youths Coalition stated that it stands fully prepared to confront revisionist narratives with verified historical facts and concrete proof of General Babangida’s contributions to Nigeria’s development.

The group emphasized that this defense is vital not just to counter malicious actors, but to preserve an accurate historical truth for posterity.
