Did Umahi, Tinubu, Wike Send Their Children To School Abroad With Student Loan? – Sowore

AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused Nigeria’s political elite of neglecting public universities while ensuring that their children receive education from top institutions abroad.

In a post shared on his official X account on Monday, 27 July 2026, Sowore claimed that many former and current public officials, including governors, ministers and lawmakers, failed to use their positions to strengthen Nigeria’s higher education system.

These are the same people who have served as governors, ministers of education, senators, and other top public officials, yet they never built or strengthened a single university they were proud or comfortable enough to send their own children to.

Instead, they ask ordinary Nigerians to celebrate student loans while millions of families are already overburdened by economic hardship.

Ask yourself: did Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT, Nyesom Wike @GovWike, Charles Soludo @CCSoludo , David Umahi @DaveUmahi, and others take out student loans to send their children to universities in the United Kingdom? The answer is no.

Their children attended some of the best universities abroad, while public universities at home were neglected.

The public resources that should have transformed education for millions of Nigerians instead financed the lifestyles and privileges of a political elite.
