Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has paid a condolence visit to former Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi “Niyi” Adeosun.The deceased reportedly died on August 5, 2026, at the age of 62.
Governor Abiodun disclosed the condolence visit in a statement, saying he conveyed his sympathies to Mrs Adeosun, her children and the entire Adeosun family over the loss.
The governor described the late Adeosun as a respected businessman and devoted Christian whose life, according to him, was defined by faith, service and commitment to his family.
Abiodun said the death represented a significant loss not only to the immediate family but also to the many people who had been touched by the deceased’s life and contributions.
He urged the family to find strength and comfort during the difficult period, while praying for God’s support for Mrs Adeosun, her children and other members of the family.
Abiodun Prays For Adeosun Family
The Ogun governor also prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, asking God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
“May God grant Mr Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun eternal rest and may his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen,” Abiodun said.
Mrs Adeosun served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance under former President Muhammadu Buhari. She resigned from the position in 2018. Her background includes a career in accounting and public service.
