Oyo Assembly Speaker Adebo Welcomes Rescued Pupils, Teachers, Commends Security Agencies

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, has welcomed the rescued pupils, teachers and other victims from Oriire Local Government Area following their release from captivity.

In a statement on his Facebook post earlier today, Ogundoyin said it was an honour to join Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at the Governor’s Office in Ibadan as the Nigerian military formally handed over the rescued victims to the Oyo State Government after they had undergone medical observation, evaluation and psychological support.

The Speaker described the victims’ safe return after 56 days in captivity as a moment of relief, gratitude and hope for the state.

He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, other security agencies, the Western Nigeria Security Network, and all individuals involved in the rescue operation and the provision of medical and psychosocial care to the victims.

Ogundoyin assured that the Oyo State Government would continue to support the rescued victims and their families throughout their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

He also stressed the need to strengthen the state’s security architecture to enhance the protection of lives and property across Oyo State.

The Speaker expressed optimism that the victims’ return would mark the beginning of healing, recovery and restoration for them and their families.
