Four Suspects Linked to Diepkloof Cross-Pavement Robbery Arrested at Jabulani hostel with Gun and Suspected Stolen Cash

Four suspects aged between 26 and 42 are expected to appear before the Protea Magistrate’s Court after their arrest during an intelligence driven police operation linked to an alleged cross-pavement robbery.

They face charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm, live ammunition, cross-pavement robbery, and possession of suspected stolen money, according to Gauteng police authorities.

Police said the arrests followed a cross-pavement robbery reported on 27 July at a local shopping centre in Diepkloof.

Information gathered during the investigation was operationalised, leading officers to Jabulani hostel, where the four suspects were arrested without further details being released by authorities regarding the operation.

During the operation, police confiscated a 9mm pistol loaded with 15 live rounds of ammunition and an undisclosed amount of money. Investigations into the case are continuing.

Johannesburg District Commissioner Major General Nonhlanhla Kubheka commended officers for their swift reaction and dedication in tackling serious and violent crimes across communities.
