The first offer was reportedly worth around €50 million, before Barça returned with an improved €60 million proposal.

City rejected both offers and have maintained a much higher valuation of the midfielder. Reports have placed Manchester City’s asking price at around €80 million.

The two clubs are expected to continue direct negotiations as Barcelona work on another proposal.

Barça Remain Confident

Despite the gap between the two clubs’ valuations, Barcelona remain confident and optimistic about reaching an agreement for Rodri.

The Spanish midfielder is understood to be a major target for the Catalan club as they look to strengthen their midfield.

Manchester City, meanwhile, are continuing to assess Rodri’s situation. City manager Enzo Maresca was cautious when asked about the midfielder’s future, saying that anything could happen before the transfer window closes.

Rodri has also returned to Manchester City training following his holiday, adding another layer to the ongoing transfer saga.

For now, Rodri remains a Manchester City player, with Barcelona preparing another attempt to convince the Premier League club to sanction his departure.
