The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the credentials and personal particulars of the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, as part of the statutory process for the 2027 general election.

The documents, displayed at the commission in line with electoral requirements, contain details of Sowore’s personal information, educational qualifications and work experience submitted in support of his presidential nomination.

According to the documents, Omoyele Stephen Sowore, born on February 16, 1971, hails from Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

He listed his occupation as a publisher and is contesting the presidency on the platform of the African Action Congress (AAC).

The INEC forms indicate that Sowore declared his residential address as 34 Mosafejo Street, Kiribo, Ese-Odo, Ondo State, and stated that he is not a person with disability.

On educational qualifications, the documents show that the AAC presidential candidate obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1980, completed his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) qualification in 1987, and earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Columbia University, New York, in 2003.

A copy of the master’s degree certificate was also included among the submitted credentials.

The personal particulars further reveal that Sowore listed Sahara Reporters as his previous employer, where he indicated he worked between 2006 and 2018, stating “Sabbatical Leave” as the reason for leaving.

He also declared that he has not been dismissed from the public service of the federation, any state, local government or area council.

INEC is required under the Electoral Act to publish the credentials and personal particulars of candidates seeking elective offices to enable members of the public to scrutinise the documents and, where necessary, raise any objections through the legal process.

The publication forms part of the commission’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, during which political parties and their candidates are expected to complete all statutory nomination requirements.
